Roof Hatch DWG
6

The Roof Hatch provides a high quality secure opening for access through flat, pitched ,cladded profile and standing seam roofs. Available in standard sizes from stock or made to measure each hatch comes fully insulated and weatherproof.

Manufactured from 2.0 mm gauge aluminium or 1.5 mm gauge stainless steel the lightweight design makes operation and fitting simple. The double skin aluminium lid and upstand incorporates 50mm of insulation to maintain U-values across the roof area. The hatch comes with gas struts to assist opening and to hold the door in the open position.

Unlike other solutions the Roof Hatch offers the unique option of being lockable from either side whilst still being able to be operated from the other. This is crucial where the hatch may form part of an emergency escape route. This unique locking mechanism prevents unauthorised access from the wrong side whilst still acting as a escape route from the other.

A smoke vent version is available operated by actuators or electromagnets that can be connected to fire alarm systems.
The actuator controlled version comes with a control box enabling the panel to be used for ventilation.

Technical & Fitting Details

Fit the hatch by fixing the upstand to the roof via the pre punched holes in the base flange. Finish the roof flashing to the top of the upstand then fit the lid and frame assembly over the upstand. This two part process ensures weathertightness. We can also offer various height upstands (150mm standard).
