St. Pancras Station Hotel

Project Study

London, NW1
Project type:
Commercial Hotel
Products used:
Premium Range Fire Rated Riser Doors

Designed and built in the period of gaslighting by George Gilbert Scott, the hotel is engulfed with natural light from the tall floor to ceiling windows. During the refurbishment, the craftsmen replicated the original features in the Victorian Gothic style.
In such a sensitive and well lit listed project, the requirement was for the most discrete access panels that would not be obvious to the casual observer.
Our 2-hour fire-rated Riser Door range with beaded frames to be skimmed or tape & jointed into the surrounding surface were specified that had to be finished on-site with the same paint as the surrounding surface.
The ‘Slik’ invisible keyhole detail was then used to make the doors seamlessly blend into the surrounding surface. Concealing the latest hi-tech equipment behind these concealed doors enabled the architect to maintain the historic interior aesthetic.
